Stoked about Gold

Glad to see Stokes back

Sad to see JT go

Glad to see Canada win Gold

Sad to see the end of the holiday season

Anyways happy belated new years to all. Best wishs blah blah blah, you know the drill...

Good to see Stokes healthy, he didn't play very much but hopefully he'll get back to where he was at quickly. JT is apparently still being shopped to 3 teams.... the Gens denied the Tavares to London deal as being done or in place.

The Gens needed to come up big... and while 4 of 6 points is good... over the holidays the number of losses has probably sealed this teams fate.

Players i believe could be moved

Nagy (AHL bound next year)
Delory (can't return)
Conway (can't return)
Quarrie (can't return)
JT (AHL bound)

anyone else that would bring a big deal.... wouldn't trade Del or Dehann without huge packages though

happy holidays

Gens sit 6th Going into the break. The Gens could slide right out of a playoff spot if they're not careful before the trade deadline.

Obviously ticket sales are a huge part of the decision process especially assuming that with the economy the way it is that next year could be rough when your talking season ticket renewals and group sales.

If i'm the Gens i'd feel up six teams in the east 3rd-9th. If at least one of the other teams is going to have a fire sale, then the Gens can do the same, and still battle for a playoff stretch down the run.

Theres not much to write about, but if anything comes up i'll be on to write about it. If not happy holidays i'll be back close to the 28th.

JT's last game as a General

JT is officially on the block. The only way that he returns to the Generals is if top OHL teams low ball the Generals.

I seem JT in London... the fans want him bad.... and it could add pressure and make a better deal to trade with them.

Not going to talk about Fridays game 10-0 pathetic.

Bailie needs more time to grow, playing him once a month isn't going to help the kid.

The Gens didn't deserve either win. If the team plays like this there will be a massive rebuild of the team.

Don Sanderson (Whitby Dunlops) is in critical condition after an on ice fight friday night. Check the Dunlops site for updates.

This leads to a very hot button issue. How do we stop heads from hitting the ice? There have been multiple injuries. Rather then focus on banning fighting. Here is what I suggest.

1) If a player removes his or her helmet while on the ice, the player receives an automatic game misconduct. (Barring rare circumstances needing to be determined)

2) If a players helmet comes off during the game for any reason the player receives a 2 minute penalty, none of this getting off the ice as fast as possible (wear the helmet tight)

3) In a fight the first player to take off there helmet gets an extra two minute penalty. (This is so that players don't just say screw it and both take off there helmets leading to off setting penaltys)

Whether or not this is optimal or not I believe that it is better then taking fighting out of the game.

The Gens return to action on the 28th, Hopefully the building will see a sell out seeing as the date.... however with a 7pm world jr game its upsetting to see the gens go with a 6pm start and could lead to a lower attendance.

Wolves and Knights

Gens win 4-3 in Tavares apparent last game as a general. Word is out around the league today that London may be closing in on a deal. Hunter wants to give us lots of draft picks and little else though.

The Gens need to work on there athleticism I think over the holidays.... they seem to tire out down the stretch... we are being continuously outplayed in the third period.

The Gens have until Thursday to Trade JT or they have to wait until the new year.

There will probably be many rumors around the league tomorrow... followed by sillence until the new year.... but thats only a guess

A for Effort

5-2 Win Over Belleville
4-2 Loss to Plymouth
?-? vs Sudbury

The Gens gave it everything they had Thursday.... and were left running on empty Friday.

I think the diving calls are rediculous.... someone clearly said something to the league which was passed along to the refs to watch the Gens for Dives.

Conways efforts are keeping us in games. He is the reason the team is so high in the standings. Twice he has kept the Bulls from scoring more then two goals.

The Gens played the bulls hard got the win, and then people jumped on them to losing to Plymouth... Holding any team to 10 shots in two periods is quite the accomplishment. Unfortunately you could see that the boys weren't ready to play in the third... I'm gonna say it's cause the effort put forth the night before. I don't like that the coach is giving JT so much ice time when it comes to back to back games.... thats what your 3rd and 4th line are there for... to eat up minutes so the big guns don't get worn out. I don't agree with starting Conway either last night. 3 games in 4 nights give Bailie the middle game. Also Conway to me looked sharper in game 1 then game two each time he has played back to back games.

Delory is going to get a suspension.... maybe not yet.... but the unsportsmanlike behaviour is stupid.

Also I know its fun to ride on players, and I love boing Subban when he touches the puck.... but lets leave the racist comments out of it. Not called for especially in the areana.... I did like the signs though Waterboy 08 and 09.... as well as what does PK stand for piece of krap?

Wolves destroyed the Petes tonight.... hopefully there all out of goals... they sit only 3 points behind us... plus we need the win if we hope to pass Ottawa next weekend.
